Assistant Engineer (ACMV)

About the role
We are seeking a Project Engineer (ACMV) to join VOLEX ENGINEERING PTE LTD on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a strategic engineering role within our Project Engineering division, based in the Central Region. As a Project Engineer specialising in Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems, you will play a crucial part in the design, planning, and execution of complex ACMV projects. You will be responsible for translating project requirements into robust technical solutions whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. This role offers significant scope for technical expertise and project leadership, making it ideal for an engineer looking to advance their career in the mechanical systems sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop ACMV systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, engineering drawings, and documentation for ACMV installations
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for ACMV system proposals
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors to integrate ACMV systems into overall project designs
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for ACMV-related tasks
• Perform site inspections and audits to ensure ACMV installations meet design specifications and quality standards
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions during project execution
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and maintain accurate records of all technical data
• Support tender preparation and client presentations with technical expertise and recommendations

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in ACMV system design, engineering, or project management
• Strong knowledge of ACMV systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air handling units
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or similar CAD tools
• Familiarity with ACMV-related codes, standards, and regulations applicable to Singapore or the region
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Professional Engineer (PEng) status is preferred
• Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is advantageous
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability in ACMV design is a plus
