Assistant Engineer

Job Descriptions

1. Assist in providing electrical/mechanical technical support for rail transit vehicles and related engineering activities, including preparation and review of technical documentation.
2. Assist in technical activities across rail transit projects, including metro, urban rail, light rail, and high-speed rail, according to the assigned engineering discipline.
3. Participate in project feasibility studies, technical scheme development, drawing reviews, technical quotations, and solution optimisation under the guidance of senior engineers.
4. Assist in procurement-related technical activities, including preparation and review of Purchase Orders (POs), procurement status tracking, and coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
5. Support technical communication and coordination with clients, railway experts, suppliers, CRRC HQ, and other stakeholders to facilitate technical discussions and follow-up of project matters.
6. Assist in monitoring project construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities, providing technical support for site issues and ensuring compliance with technical requirements, quality standards, and project schedules.
7. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating technical submissions and documentation, including project reports, tender documents, specifications, procedures, presentations, technical summaries, official correspondence, and other engineering documents.
8. Assist in reviewing and verifying ETD professional documentation prepared in English, ensuring technical content is accurate, clearly presented, and aligned with project requirements and company standards.
9. Assist in monitoring technical progress and maintaining project records, including technical data, project documentation, implementation records, and acceptance documents.
10. Assist in identifying and following up on technical issues and corrective actions under the guidance of senior engineers and relevant stakeholders.
11. Support project development and business activities, including site assessments, technical discussions, client presentations, and tender-related activities.
12. Perform other technical and project-related duties as assigned by management, including site deployment and business travel as required.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related engineering discipline.
2. Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in engineering, project execution, or the railway industry.
3. Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.
4. Good command of English and Bahasa Melayu; Mandarin is an added advantage.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
6. Proficient in relevant engineering software, such as CAD, 3D modelling/drawing software, electrical drawing software, or other discipline-specific engineering tools.
7. Strong foundation in mechanical/electrical engineering principles, with relevant knowledge of rail transit vehicles or railway systems being an added advantage.
8. Good communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Willing to travel and work at project sites when required.

Working Location

• Sentul Depot, with occasional travel to Menara Khuan Choo and Shamelin, as required.
