Assistant Engineer

About the role

Koridor Utiliti Johor Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Engineer to join our Civil/Structural Engineering team. This is a contract position based in Johor. As an Assistant Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the design, planning, and execution of structural and civil engineering projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers to contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure and construction initiatives that shape our built environment. This position offers excellent opportunities to develop your technical expertise and gain practical experience in civil and structural engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of structural and civil engineering solutions for various projects
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software and engineering tools
• Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess project conditions and requirements
• Support the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, and project documentation
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure compliance with design specifications
• Monitor construction progress and verify that work meets engineering standards and safety requirements
• Perform calculations for structural analysis, load assessments, and material specifications
• Support the senior engineering team in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions
• Maintain detailed project records and documentation in accordance with company procedures

What we're looking for

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Professional certification or registration as a graduate engineer or equivalent qualification
• Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools
• Solid understanding of structural analysis principles, building codes, and safety regulations
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and practices
• Excellent technical drawing and design communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is advantageous
• Willingness to conduct site visits and work in various weather conditions
• Experience in infrastructure, buildings, or structural projects is highly desirable
