Assistant Engineer (M&I Meter)

Primary Responsibilities

The Assistant Engineer (M&I Meter) assists the Senior Engineer in coordinating with clients for job scheduling and execution of work, performs site-based activities, and ensures compliance with the company's Code of Conduct and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform calibration, verification, and testing of flow meters and provers in accordance with approved procedures, standards, and work instructions
• Support preparation, setup, and dismantling of calibration equipment at site or workshop
• Record calibration data, results, and observations accurately in calibration logs or reports
• Assist the Senior Engineer in scheduling and planning of calibration and maintenance jobs
• Coordinate with clients to confirm job scope, schedule, and on-site requirements
• Support execution of on-site work by allocating resources and assisting with logistics
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of engineering equipment and tools in accordance with approved maintenance schedules
• Perform basic mechanical repair works, including dismantling, troubleshooting, replacement, and reassembly of equipment components
• Adhere to all company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices
• Maintain proper records of calibration, maintenance, repair and fabrication activities

Requirements

• Degree, Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Engineering or related field
• Willingness to work on-site and follow safety and quality procedures
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and clients
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Fluent English and local language
• Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity
