Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) – Fire Protection / Valves

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) to join a well-established international engineering company specialising in water control and fire protection solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or junior engineers who are looking to build their career in application engineering, technical support, project coordination and fire protection systems.

You will work closely with customers, sales teams and overseas factories, gaining exposure to control valves, fire protection systems, technical specifications, project requirements and troubleshooting. The role will also provide opportunities for regional travel and customer-facing technical activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret customer/project technical specifications and assist in preparing technical proposals.
• Provide technical and application support to the sales team and customers.
• Liaise with overseas factories on technical information, drawings and design clarifications.
• Review project, order and contract specifications to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Support project coordination, schedules and technical deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test reports, inspection records and installation drawings.
• Assist with technical meetings, customer presentations, seminars, webinars and product training.
• Provide technical support to customers and respond to product/application enquiries.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting and attend customer sites when required.
• Support troubleshooting and breakdown enquiries involving valves and fire protection systems.
• Work with internal and overseas teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Support ad-hoc sales and business development activities when required.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Entry level is welcome to apply as training provided.
• Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in instrumentation, mechanical engineering, valves, fire protection, automation or related industries will have an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Comfortable communicating with customers and internal technical teams.
• Willing to conduct technical presentations, seminars, webinars and product training.
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork and willingness to learn.
• Independent, responsible and able to take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Good technical communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to support both technical and occasional sales-related activities.
