Assistant Environmental Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a sustainability and environmental professional to drive sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance and outsourced soft services management. The role will support the organisation in improving environmental performance, resource efficiency and sustainable operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sustainability and ESG initiatives covering carbon reduction, energy efficiency, waste minimisation and water conservation
• Manage outsourced soft services contracts, including cleaning, environmental sanitation and waste management
• Establish and monitor service standards, SOPs and KPIs, ensuring contractor performance and regulatory compliance
• Conduct and coordinate environmental audits, inspections and green certification activities
• Oversee pest and vector management programmes and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
• Lead sustainability, environmental and facilities improvement projects from planning through implementation
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors and external agencies to drive sustainability awareness and initiatives
• Identify innovative technologies and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and environmental performance

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Facilities Management or a related discipline
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in environmental management, sustainability, facilities management or related fields
• Experience managing environmental or sustainability projects from planning through implementation
• Strong project management, analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with relevant environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and compliance practices

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Familiarity with BCA Green Mark, GreenGov.SG or other relevant sustainability frameworks
• Experience managing contractors or outsourced service providers
• ECC certification
• Experience in the construction, engineering, infrastructure or built-environment sector
• Experience in environmental audits, sustainability reporting or green certification activities
• Knowledge of environmental technologies and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and environmental performance
