Assistant Export Sales Manager

About the role

Assistant Export Sales Manager for a Japan-based manufacturer and distributor of processed chicken for both domestic and overseas markets. You will generate sales revenue from the Japan, Thailand, Singapore, EU/UK, Hong Kong, and South Korea markets to achieve the sales budget (Quantity & Sales Amount).

Key responsibilities

• Generate sales revenue from the Japan, Thailand, Singapore, EU/UK, Hong Kong, and South Korea markets to achieve the sales budget (Quantity & Sales Amount)
• Identify opportunities for market expansion and formulate sales strategies and action plans to successfully expand the business
• Coordinate the NPD (New Product Development) process to obtain customer approval and proceed to actual production
• Collaborate with team members to ensure successful production and product delivery that meet customer requirements (including Production, Procurement, R&D, Storage, Shipping)
• Monitor production results carefully to ensure they meet expectations, and correct any issues that arise
• Communicate closely with customers and provide timely updates on shipment status; inform them immediately of any issues
• Deepen industry knowledge and gather market information to provide valuable insights to customers and negotiate effectively
• Manage customer visits to the factory to expand business opportunities and build strong customer relationships

About you

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• Excellent command of Japanese, with strong listening and speaking skills as the top priority; solid reading and writing ability is an advantage. JLPT N2 or higher is preferable
• Proficient in English communication, secondary to Japanese; needed to occasionally liaise with customers from other countries
• Solid sales experience in overseas market; product-specific knowledge is not required, as on-the-job training will be provided
• Skilled at project management, reliable with sense of ownership
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
