Assistant Fabric Sourcing & Development Manager

About the Company

Our client is a leading fashion group with an established presence across Asia markets. As part of their continued growth strategy, they are seeking a passionate, proactive, and detail-oriented Assistant Fabric Sourcing & Development Manager / Senior Merchandiser to join their dynamic team and support product development initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively research and monitor seasonal fabric and trim trends, emerging textile technologies, market developments, and competitor activities, providing valuable insights to relevant internal teams.
• Support fabric sourcing strategies and contribute to the development of innovative, commercially viable materials that align with product and business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Product Development and Design teams throughout the fabric and trim development lifecycle.
• Manage fabric and trim sample requests, order follow-up, testing coordination, and assist with preliminary FOB price negotiations.
• Maintain and organize comprehensive fabric and trim libraries, including core materials, seasonal developments, trims, and colour standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with fabric mills, suppliers, and key sourcing partners.
• Coordinate with Design and Merchandising teams regarding raw material lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and shipping requirements.
• Ensure all fabrics and trims meet quality standards, technical specifications, and intended product performance requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fabric development and sourcing, with a strong track record of identifying and commercializing market-relevant materials.
• Established global sourcing network with strong exposure to suppliers and mills across Korea, Japan, China, and Europe.
• In-depth understanding of the global textile market, including mills, trade fairs, sourcing platforms, and industry events.
• Strong ability to interpret fashion trends and present market intelligence in a clear and impactful manner.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Adaptable, resilient, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven to contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese; Cantonese proficiency is highly preferred.
