Assistant Farm Manager

About the role

As an Assistant Manager at the Broodstock Multiplication Center specializing in White Shrimp, you will play a pivotal role in the operations and management of the facility. Working closely with the Manager, you will contribute to the successful multiplication of high-quality broodstock to support BMC operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the care and maintenance of broodstock shrimp, ensuring optimal health, nutrition, and environmental conditions for reproduction
• Aid in the implementation and monitoring of selection and transfer programs to produce superior shrimp stocks with desirable traits
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient task execution with the Production supervisor and Packing supervisor to assist in monitoring and maintaining water quality parameters and dissolved oxygen levels within appropriate ranges for shrimp health and reproduction
• Support the development and implementation of feeding protocols to meet the nutritional requirements of broodstock shrimp
• Assist in disease surveillance efforts, including regular health assessments and implementing biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of pathogens
• Supervise and provide leadership to broodstock production staff, including coaching and performance management
• Help in the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to broodstock performance, breeding outcomes, and environmental conditions
• Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the broodstock multiplication facility, including tanks, filtration systems, and equipment
• Ensure that all operation activities comply with relevant certifications, standards, and auditing requirements, coordinating with internal and external auditors

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Marine Science, Aquaculture, Biology, Veterinary Science, or a related field
• Strong technical knowledge of shrimp broodstock management, including health monitoring, growth performance, and reproductive development
• Solid understanding of broodstock selection criteria and quality indicators in accordance with commercial and industry standards
• Knowledge of shrimp nutrition, water quality management, environmental control systems, and disease prevention strategies
• Ability to analyze production and biological data to improve broodstock performance, efficiency, and overall quality
• Good understanding of occupational health, safety, and regulatory compliance within aquaculture production operations
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in shrimp aquaculture, preferably in broodstock production or hatchery operations
• Proven hands-on experience in managing shrimp broodstock populations, including daily care, selection, and quality assessment
• Experience in planning and monitoring broodstock production schedules to align with monthly and overall production targets
• Previous experience in supervising, coaching, and performance-managing production staff at a supervisory or team leader level
