What they need

Assistant General Manager – Dear Charlotte

Steele Creek | 4936 Trojan Dr., Charlotte, NC 28278

$65,000–$75,000 + Bonus Opportunity | Full-Time

About Dear Charlotte

Dear Charlotte is a new Mediterranean-inspired rooftop restaurant, bar, and event destination coming to Charlotte.

Designed as a high-energy destination with a sophisticated but approachable atmosphere, Dear Charlotte will feature Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, a cocktail-forward beverage program, and approximately 120 seats across indoor and outdoor spaces.

We're building the leadership team from the ground up and are looking for an Assistant General Manager who is excited by the opportunity to help open something new, develop a team, and create an exceptional guest experience from day one.

The Opportunity

As Assistant General Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to help lead Dear Charlotte through its pre-opening, launch, and ongoing operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, developing people, solving problems, and helping create the systems and culture that will define a new restaurant.

You'll be an important part of the leadership team and will have the opportunity to grow alongside the concept.

What You'll Do

  • Support the General Manager through pre-opening, opening, and ongoing operations
  • Help recruit, interview, onboard, train, and develop the restaurant team
  • Lead daily FOH operations and service execution
  • Serve as a visible floor leader during high-volume services
  • Establish and maintain service standards and operating procedures
  • Support scheduling, labor management, and shift performance
  • Help manage restaurant systems, communication, and accountability
  • Support inventory, ordering, and cost-control processes
  • Partner with the bar and culinary teams to ensure smooth service execution
  • Support guest recovery and build strong relationships with repeat and VIP guests
  • Assist with private events and other revenue-generating opportunities
  • Coach team members in hospitality, service standards, menu knowledge, and sales execution
  • Help create a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
  • Step into the GM's responsibilities when needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a restaurant leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and wants meaningful responsibility in a brand-new concept.

Required:

  • 3+ years of progressive restaurant management experience
  • Experience in high-volume restaurant operations
  • Strong floor leadership and guest-service skills
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, and operational controls
  • Experience hiring, training, and developing team members
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Hands-on leadership style

Ideal experience includes:

  • New restaurant opening experience
  • Rooftop restaurant or bar operations
  • Elevated casual or upscale dining
  • Hotel food & beverage
  • Cocktail-forward or beverage-driven concepts
  • Private events and group dining

What Makes You Successful Here

The right AGM will be someone who wants to build, not just maintain.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Get excited about food, beverage, and hospitality
  • Enjoy being on the floor and leading by example
  • Know how to coach people rather than simply manage them
  • Take ownership when things go wrong
  • Understand that great hospitality is about more than checking boxes
  • Can balance people, service, and business performance
  • Stay calm and solutions-focused when things get busy
  • Want to grow into greater leadership responsibility

Why Join Dear Charlotte?

Great restaurants start with great teams — and we believe in taking care of ours.

In addition to competitive compensation, you'll receive an excellent benefits package designed to support you both at work and outside of it.

  • $65,000–$75,000 salary + bonus opportunity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Health and wellness benefits
  • Dining perks
  • Career growth and advancement opportunities
  • Opportunity to be part of a brand-new restaurant opening
  • The chance to help shape the team, culture, and guest experience from day one

If you're an experienced restaurant leader who is ready for more responsibility and wants the opportunity to help build a new concept from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.

Other offers great for you!
