Assistant General Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team in leading daily operations within a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive experience in food industry management. The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing staff, managing food safety standards, controlling inventory, and maintaining high-quality food and service standards across casual dining, quick service, or fine dining settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including supervising staff and ensuring smooth shift transitions
• Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
• Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
• Supervise inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels to minimize waste
• Lead staff training initiatives focused on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures
• Support hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new team members to build a competent workforce
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety standards across all departments
• Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to optimize profitability
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through attentive service and effective team management
• Participate in restaurant management tasks such as shift management, supervising food production, catering coordination, and banquet operations
• Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and leadership growth

Skills

• Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality management with supervising responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of food industry standards including food safety, handling, preparation, and kitchen management
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling expertise required
• Excellent leadership skills with experience in staff training & development, team management, and interviewing candidates
• Background in food service management across casual dining, fine dining, catering, or hotel environments
• Ability to manage inventory control effectively while maintaining quality standards
• Strong organizational skills with experience in budgeting and cost control measures
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
• Knowledge of culinary techniques; experience with food production and catering preferred
• Leadership qualities that promote teamwork, motivation, and operational efficiency
• Experience with shift management in fast-paced environments such as quick service or full-service restaurants

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
