About the role

The Assistant General Manager will be the overarching owner and the face of a brand-new, large-scale Build to Rent community. You will lead the Resident Experience team, hold the standard for service across the whole asset, and work closely with the leasing, facilities and partnerships teams to make sure residents have an exceptional experience. Before opening, you will complete a nine-month immersion across the existing community to learn the operation and help scale it.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, coach and grow the Resident Experience Manager and Resident Experience team
• Own service standards across the asset, partnering with leasing and facilities and escalating performance issues to the relevant department heads
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of occupancy, leasing progress, maintenance and security matters
• Recruit the opening team, including resident experience, hosts and leasing roles
• Complete quarterly risk assessments of the asset with the maintenance team
• Report on asset performance to the executive leadership team with a commercial lens

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience leading teams in a people focused, on site environment in the living sector such as BTR, hotels, student accommodation, retirement living, co-working or building management
• Exposure to the operational side of a large asset, including cleaning, security, maintenance and contractors
• A commercial mindset and confidence reporting to senior leaders
• An understanding of residential tenancy legislation, with an Agents Representative qualification highly regarded
• A warm, kind and confident approach, and genuine enjoyment of being customer facing every day
• Resilience and good judgement when things get challenging
