Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, supervising staff, and ensuring an excellent dining experience for every guest. This role involves managing team performance, maintaining food and beverage quality, monitoring operating costs, and ensuring smooth service while upholding high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the General Manager with daily restaurant operations and business activities.
• Supervise front-of-house, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure efficient workflow.
• Train, coach, and motivate employees to maintain high service standards.
• Coordinate staff schedules, shift assignments, and staffing coverage.
• Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and professional service.
• Address customer questions, feedback, and complaints promptly.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, beverage service, and order accuracy.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to maintain smooth operations.
• Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and stock control.
• Monitor sales, labor costs, and daily operating expenses.
• Support POS operations, cash handling, and financial reporting.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and restaurant cleanliness standards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Oversee opening, closing, and shift handover procedures.
• Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Help organize promotions, special events, and customer-engagement activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
• Assist with resolving staffing and service-related challenges.
• Prepare operational updates and reports for the General Manager.
• Step in to lead restaurant operations when the General Manager is unavailable.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality operations.
• Supervisory or assistant management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Knowledge of restaurant, kitchen, and bar operations.
• Experience with staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
• Understanding of inventory control, cost management, and sales reporting.
• Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant-management software.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional attitude, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
