Assistant General Manager

The Opportunity: Step Into Leadership & Legacy Churrería El Moro isn't just a café; it's a 90-year-old Mexican legacy. As we expand across Southern California and prepare for our newest Grand Opening in Stanton, we are looking for a driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead the charge.

If the General Manager is the Captain of the ship, the AGM is the First Officer. Your primary objective is to be the ultimate "right-hand" to the GM, driving the flawless daily execution of the restaurant so the GM can focus on high-level growth. You are the master of the floor, the driver of shift morale, and the first line of defense for our 1935 recipe standard.

This role is a direct stepping stone. We actively train our AGMs to grow, develop, and eventually take over their own El Moro location as a General Manager.

How You Will Lead (Our Core Values):

• Floor Execution (Siempre Intachable): You are the last line of defense for quality before a product reaches the guest. You ensure every churro, every hot chocolate, and every table meets our 90-year standard.
• Shift Readiness (Siempre Preparado): You oversee the prep teams and ensure the Mise en Place is perfect. You manage the daily checklists, count inventory, and handle receiving so the store never runs out of product during a rush.
• Team Training (Siempre Avanzando): You are the primary trainer for all new hourly hires. You ensure they know our history, master our recipes, and understand the art of the "Passionate Upsell."
• Shift Morale (Siempre Positivos): You lead the pre-shift huddles. You keep the team's energy high, stepping in to support them when the volume gets heavy, and resolving guest issues with empathy and grace.

The "Future GM" Competencies:

• Hands-On Hustle: You lead from the front. You are the first to grab a mop or jump on the POS when the team is overwhelmed.
• Operational Discipline: You believe in checklists. You know that consistency comes from following the process every single time.
• Business Acumen: You don't just point out problems; you bring solutions. You will support the GM in controlling daily labor costs, monitoring food waste, and ensuring 100% financial accuracy with register audits and safe counts.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Experience: 3+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment (QSR, Fast Casual, or Premium Cafe).
• Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred and strongly recommended for effective communication with both the prep teams and guests.
• Certifications: Must possess an active California ServSafe Manager Certification.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficient with modern restaurant technology (POS systems, inventory software, scheduling tools).
• The Hustle (Physical Demands): This is a physically demanding leadership role. You must be able to stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts in a fast-paced environment, frequently lift up to 50 lbs, and have the flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
