What they need
This is not a “help the GM” role. This is a lead the operation role.
We are launching a new MilkShake Factory in San Antonio and are looking for a high-energy, hands-on leader who can turn standards and systems into great execution every shift.
MilkShake Factory is a premium dessert concept known for handcrafted milkshakes, small-batch chocolates and an elevated guest experience. We combine the speed of quick service with the energy of an experiential brand, creating a destination, not just a transaction.
As Assistant General Manager, you'll be the GM's #2 and a key leader in the business. You'll lead from the floor, coach the team, protect our standards and ensure the operation performs at a high level — whether the GM is there or not.
What You'll Do
- Lead day-to-day store operations and high-volume shifts
- Execute and enforce standard operating procedures, checklists and routines
- Coach team members in real time and hold the team accountable to expectations
- Help train and develop team members and future shift leaders
- Maintain exceptional standards for hospitality, speed, cleanliness and product quality
- Monitor labor, inventory, waste and other key operating metrics
- Identify operational problems and take action to correct them
- Drive upselling, merchandising and execution of sales initiatives
- Manage opening, closing, cash-handling and shift procedures
- Resolve guest concerns and create memorable guest experiences
- Step into any position when needed to keep the operation moving
- Serve as the leader of the business when the General Manager is not present
Who Is This Perfect For?
This role is a strong fit if you have:
- Leadership experience in a fast-paced restaurant, retail or hospitality environment
- Experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, Team Leader or similar role
- Background in brands like Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out, Raising Cane's, Starbucks or other structured, high-volume concepts
- Experience coaching and holding team members accountable
- A track record of executing systems and maintaining high standards
- A desire to grow into greater leadership responsibility
You'll thrive if you:
- Lead from the front – when the team is busy, you're in it with them
- Have an ownership mindset – you see a problem and take action
- Bring energy – your presence raises the performance of the team
- Hold high standards – details matter even when nobody is watching
- Develop people – you coach rather than simply tell people what to do
- Love hospitality – you engage guests and expect your team to do the same
- Can hustle – you stay organized and effective when the business gets busy
- Want to grow – you want to learn how to run a high-performing business
This Role Requires
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Lifting 25–75pounds
- Standing for long periods
- Frequent walking
- Ability to work in refrigerated areas
- Regular use of technology, including POS systems, Restaurant365 and Toast
- Ability to obtain required food-safety certifications
What You Get
- Competitive pay
- Opportunity for advancement
- Real leadership responsibility — not just a title
- Opportunity to help build a team and culture from the ground up
- Hands-on development in restaurant operations and business performance
- A brand that blends hospitality, entertainment and food
What Success Looks Like
- Shifts run consistently whether or not the GM is in the building
- Team members know what's expected and are held accountable
- Guests receive fast, friendly and engaging service
- Product quality and cleanliness standards are consistently met
- Labor, waste and inventory are actively managed
- Problems are identified and addressed instead of passed along
- Team members are continuously coached and developed
- The GM can confidently hand you the operation and know it's handled
