Assistant General Manager - Restaurant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations at our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and quality of service.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, and development to foster a skilled team.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Handle cash management processes including cash handling and POS operations (Aloha POS, Micros POS).
• Develop and manage budgets to optimize restaurant profitability.
• Supervise kitchen management activities including food preparation, cooking, and production.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving complaints.
• Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours.
• Lead team meetings to promote communication and enhance team performance.

Experience
The successful candidate will possess:

• Proven experience in restaurant management or similar roles within the food service industry.
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling practices.
• Familiarity with quick service & fast food environments as well as casual dining experiences.
• Experience with fine dining or banquet services is a plus.
• Knowledge of budgeting, inventory control, and financial management within a restaurant setting.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality management.
