Assistant Golf Professional

About the Role:

The Assistant Golf Professional plays a vital role in supporting the overall operations and member experience at a golf facility. This position is responsible for assisting with golf instruction, managing daily golf activities, and providing exceptional customer service to members and guests. The Assistant Golf Professional works closely with the Head Golf Professional to ensure smooth tournament operations, merchandise sales, and maintenance of the golf shop. This role requires a strong knowledge of the game of golf, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Assistant Golf Professional contributes to creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere that enhances the enjoyment and engagement of all golf patrons.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and instruction techniques.
• Previous experience in golf operations, customer service, or related roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) or similar recognized golf professional organization.
• Experience with golf shop point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Proven track record of delivering golf instruction or coaching.
• Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices.
• Experience organizing golf tournaments and events.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in providing golf lessons and clinics to players of all skill levels, helping to improve their game and enjoyment of golf.
• Manage daily golf operations including tee time scheduling, player check-in, and coordination of golf carts and course maintenance.
• Support the Head Golf Professional in organizing and running golf tournaments, leagues, and special events.
• Oversee the golf shop operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales transactions.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing member and guest inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering positive relationships.

The Assistant Golf Professional uses their knowledge of golf rules and techniques daily to provide effective instruction and guidance to players, enhancing their skills and enjoyment.
