Assistant Hotel General Manager

The Cambria Hotel Richardson is seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join our leadership team as our Assistant General Manager (AGM). This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting all aspects of hotel operations while developing team members, driving guest satisfaction, and ensuring operational excellence.

The AGM serves as the General Manager's second-in-command and is expected to lead by example, coach department leaders, solve problems proactively, and help deliver exceptional guest experiences every day. Successful AGMs often serve as the next generation of General Managers by gaining experience across every department of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the hotel.
• Lead daily operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Guest Services.
• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by resolving concerns quickly and professionally.
• Coach, develop, and mentor department managers and team members.
• Conduct daily hotel walkthroughs to ensure brand standards and cleanliness expectations are consistently met.
• Monitor labor, expenses, and operational performance to achieve financial goals.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with Cambria brand standards, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Support revenue management initiatives and maximize hotel profitability.
• Analyze daily reports, guest feedback, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) and oversee hotel operations during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Step into the General Manager's responsibilities during their absence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hotel management experience.
• Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, or Department Head strongly preferred.
• Full-service hotel experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience managing multiple hotel departments.
• Ability to analyze financial reports, labor costs, and operational performance.
• Knowledge of hotel Property Management Systems (ChoiceADVANTAGE experience is a plus).
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when business needs require.
