Assistant in Nursing - Causal Pool

About the role

Join our team at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton as an Assistant in Nursing on a Casual basis. The successful candidates will secure a position within our Casual Pool. To be eligible for our casual pool we require flexibility to work across various wards. We are looking for nurses who can work ideally 2-3 shifts a fortnight minimum including mornings, afternoons and nights.

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of areas including surgical, medical, close observation, day surgery, women's , rehab, oncology, palliative and ED.

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Our heritage-listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Hospital in Central Queensland. Today, our 136-bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services.

Salary range: $35.05 - $38.38 per hour plus 25% casual loading plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

The Assistant in Nursing assists and supports the clinical teams in providing safe and quality patient-centered care under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.

• Gathering information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptly
• Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertise
• Undertaking observations and assessments
• Following the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff member
• Assisting with safe mobility, patient hygiene and toileting, including appearance and dietary needs
• Reporting any concerns and feedback to the Team Leader/RN to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients

About you

 To be considered suitable for the AIN position you will be:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support or Health Services Assistance
• Currently studying towards a nursing degree
• Flexibility to work in various wards, adaptability to seamlessly integrate into different teams and work under different NUMs
• Commitment to excellence in nursing practice and professional development
• Proficiency in digital and computer skills, including Microsoft 365 applications
• Prior comparable experience as an Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Assistant (Desirable)
