Assistant IT Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, clarify requirements, and manage expectations.
• Translate business needs into clear user requirements and functional specifications.
• Collaborate with technical teams to assess feasibility, agree on delivery schedules, and prioritise development tasks.
• Coordinate engineers, designers, and quality assurance personnel to support effective project delivery.
• Organise and lead project meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and agree on next steps.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and changes to stakeholders regularly.
• Maintain project documentation, including requirements, decisions, change requests, and lessons learned.
• Support improvements to project workflows and handle other project-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Relevant experience in IT project delivery, business analysis, systems analysis, software development, or a related technical role.
• Candidates with around 4–5 years of relevant experience are preferred.
• Strong business awareness, with the ability to understand client needs, ask relevant questions, and translate requirements into practical solutions.
• A good understanding of software development processes and the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities and follow through on tasks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and a willingness to develop project management skills.
• Proficiency in written Chinese and spoken Cantonese and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering IT projects or coordinating cross-functional development teams.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira or equivalent platforms.
• Experience using Google Workspace or workflow automation tools such as Zapier and n8n.
• Knowledge of payment flows, payment systems, or relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or cross-border payments.
• PMP or another relevant project management certification.

Candidates transitioning from technical or business analysis roles will also be considered. Guidance and mentorship will be provided to help develop project management capabilities.
