Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee our kitchen operations in our fast-paced artisan bakery/patisserie. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry kitchen management and food service, with the ability to lead a team effectively while ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily pastry kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to food safety regulations.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Oversee food production processes, ensuring that all products meet quality standards and are prepared in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
• Collaborate with shop managers to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
• Implement and uphold health and safety standards within the kitchen environment.
• Assist kitchen manager in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.

Skills

• Proven experience in a bakery or patisserie setting is essential.
• Strong kitchen management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Proficiency in baking techniques and food production methods.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and other departments.
• Preference will be given to candidates with 2+ years bakery or pastry experience or as an assistant manager or similar supervisory role.
