About OES Inc. and the role

OES Inc. in London, Ontario designs and builds LED scoreboards, pro timing software and custom electronics, and we ship them to customers across sport. We are hiring an Assistant Logistics Coordinator to keep those shipments accurate, compliant and on time.

You will work in our Administration department, learning from the Logistics Coordinator and the Supply Chain Manager. You will move outbound product, service requests, evaluation units and vendor returns through our shipping and warehouse process. You will also back up the Logistics Coordinator when needed. If you like organized work, firm deadlines and a team that values the 4Fs (Fast, Focused, Flexible, Finish), this role fits.

What you will do

  • Help coordinate outbound shipments of product, service requests, evaluation units and vendor returns.
  • Schedule outgoing product to make the most of courier pick-ups.
  • Confirm the right documents travel with each shipment, in line with customs and other government rules.
  • Review promised delivery dates every day so customer deliveries arrive on time.
  • Lift cases of product and stock using our documented procedures.
  • Help the production team organize inventory.
  • Keep logistics files up to date and track POs for upcoming shipments.
  • Back up the Logistics Coordinator.
  • Keep your workspace clean and follow all health and safety requirements.
  • Take part in internal and external audits under our Quality Management System.
  • Support teammates and take on related duties as the Supervisor or Department Manager assigns.

What you bring

Required:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of shipping workflows and courier services such as Purolator, UPS, DHL and FedEx.
  • Knowledge of INCOTERMS and the main modes of transport.
  • Strong organization, with the ability to prioritize, multitask and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Comfort working on your own and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read production documentation and instructions.
  • Accurate data entry and basic math.

An asset:

  • Experience with an ERP system, ideally Epicor shipping and logistics modules.
  • Familiarity with barcode inventory systems and basic accounting procedures.
  • Experience with scheduling and cost analysis.

The strengths we look for: communication, collaboration, customer service, problem solving, dependability, mentorship and stewardship.

Working conditions, pay and how to apply

This is a fast-paced role with short-notice deadlines and regular interruptions, so focus matters. Expect daily phone, email and in-person contact, and occasional difficult conversations with customers, vendors or other departments. Physical demands include:

  • Sitting for five hours or more at a time, with prolonged screen use.
  • Lifting and moving objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Using personal protective equipment when required, and working around hazards common to the industry.
  • Regular, dependable attendance.

To apply, submit your resume through Indeed. We will contact candidates selected for an interview.
