Assistant Manager- Accounts

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager- Accounting to oversee our daily financial operations, ledger integrity, month-end closing, and compliance framework. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial record-keeping across multiple sales channels (E-Commerce, Quick Commerce, Offline), maintaining robust internal controls, and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting to support business growth in the fast-paced D2C landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Core Accounting & General Ledger
• Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL) maintenance, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and fixed asset tracking.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / US GAAP / local GAAP).
• Conduct rigorous balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and inter-company transactions.
• D2C & Multi-Channel Revenue Reconciliation
• Perform end-to-end revenue reconciliation across all D2C touchpoints (website sales via Shopify/WooCommerce, marketplace channels like Amazon/Flipkart, and quick-commerce platforms like Blinkit/Zepto).
• Reconcile payment gateway payouts (Stripe, Razorpay, Cashfree, PayPal) against order logs, identifying and resolving discrepancies in COD (Cash on Delivery) settlements, returns, and chargebacks.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for inventory valuation, stock audits, physical-to-book inventory reconciliations, and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) accounting.
• Taxation, Audit & Compliance
• Oversee timely computation, filing, and compliance for statutory taxes (GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC filings, and state/local taxes).
• Lead internal, statutory, and tax audits by liaising with external auditors and preparing audit schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory frameworks, tax laws, and financial reporting guidelines.
• Financial Controls & Team Leadership
• Implement and refine internal financial controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and automated accounting workflows.
• Monitor working capital, cash flows, vendor payment schedules, and operational expenses.
• Mentor and manage a team of junior accountants, fostering accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; CA (Chartered Accountant) / CMA / ACCA or MBA Finance preferred.
• Experience: 4–6 years of hands-on experience in core accounting, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Industry Focus: Prior experience in D2C, E-Commerce, or Retail is highly preferred, with a strong grasp of multi-channel revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and logistics costs.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft 365 or similar).
• Hands-on familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify) and payment gateway dashboards.
• Advanced MS Excel / Google Sheets skills (VLOOKUP, Index/Match, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
