Job Description Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Business Compliance

Role Purpose:
To strengthen the Bank's compliance framework by providing regulatory guidance, assessing compliance risks, conducting compliance testing, monitoring adherence to regulatory requirements, and ensuring timely implementation of directives issued by regulators, the Board, and internal governance committees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advisory support to business and support functions on regulatory interpretation and compliance-related queries.
• Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive compliance risk management framework covering identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of compliance risks.
• Identify emerging regulatory and compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Review new products, services, and process changes to assess compliance implications and recommend necessary controls and risk mitigants prior to launch.
• Draft compliance advisories, instructions, and proposals for mitigating identified compliance risks and strengthening internal controls.
• Disseminate regulatory guidelines, circulars, and instructions across functions and monitor timely implementation.
• Identify products, processes, and business areas requiring enhanced compliance monitoring and testing.
• Develop, review, and update function-wise compliance manuals, SOPs, and policy documents in coordination with stakeholders and obtain necessary approvals.
• Conduct thematic compliance reviews and testing to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
• Report compliance breaches, regulatory gaps, and control weaknesses, and provide inputs to Internal Audit for detailed investigation and remediation.
• Monitor compliance action plans and follow up with various departments for closure of observations arising from regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Track and monitor implementation of RBI observations, Board-approved action items, Board Committee directions, and regulatory commitments within agreed timelines.
• Prepare periodic compliance MIS, dashboards, and management reports for senior management and governance forums.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance assessments conducted by internal and external stakeholders.
