To own the procurement function for assigned categories — supplier base, cost, delivery and compliance — and to develop the buyers working under the role.

R — Responsibilities

1. Supplier identification & development

• Identify, assess and develop new suppliers
• Maintain and expand the approved vendor list

2. RFQ & quotation analysis

• Float RFQs with complete technical scope
• Analyse quotations on landed cost and capability, not rate alone

3. Negotiation & PO processing

• Lead commercial negotiations and rate contracts
• Approve/process purchase orders within the delegation of authority

4. Order follow-up & expediting

• Follow up and expedite deliveries on critical items
• Run the pending PO review

5. Quality & inspection coordination

• Coordinate incoming inspection and supplier quality issues
• Drive corrective action with repeat-defect suppliers

6. Vendor relationship & performance

• Track commodity movement and its effect on our cost
• Deliver the annual cost-saving target

Academic qualification
