Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
• Lead and motivate sales associates to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching and team management
• Oversee customer service interactions, resolving issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction
• Manage inventory levels, coordinate purchasing, and support merchandising efforts to optimize product presentation
• Handle cash register operations, including cashiering, cash handling, and balancing registers at shift end
• Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing prospective employees and onboarding new team members
• Maintain accurate records of sales, payroll, bookkeeping, and administrative documentation to ensure operational efficiency

Skills

• Proven supervising experience in a retail environment with strong leadership capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage team members
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective customer interactions
• Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing negotiations
• Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems, pricing strategies, and sales management tools
• Sound knowledge of payroll processing, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping
• Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in merchandising and store presentation
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently through excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff is preferred
• Familiarity with marketing strategies to promote store initiatives and increase foot traffic

Our Assistant Manager will primarily manager our mall store locations in Valley Mall, managing the Island Treasures & Funky Dory retail stores, while providing managerial coverage to our Pretzelmaker / Mrs. Fields Food store in absence of Store Owner and General Manager.

Pay: $17.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 44.0 per week
