We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team here in Aberdeen!

The Assistant Manager will work with the General Manager to run daily operations of the largest restaurant in town. Maverick’s is known for its excellent customer service and award-winning menu. This is a hands-on management position and requires the manager to be available for various shifts, including nights and weekends. Daily routine will be to supervise the shifts scheduled and completed administrative tasks that include scheduling, training, marketing, guest relations, employee relations, leading the staff to ensure great dining experiences for our guests and other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

Guest Relations
o Be available and approachable to all guests
o Ensure that all departments achieve or exceed guest’s service expectations
o Be proactive when it comes to handling guest concerns
o Maintain professionalism and courtesy to all guests

Staffing
o Promote teamwork and group morale
o Lead by example through self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
o Assist with filling open server, host, expo, etc positions as necessary
o Assist with annual reviews of staff
o Develop a good work environment that attracts potential employees
o Ensure that training for new team members are thorough

Financial
o Assist General Manager achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals
o Assist in minimizing accident, workmen’s compensation and unemployment claims and their resulting costs
o Assist in property accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, and payroll and ordering procedures.

Operations
o Perform hands-on duties as needed to deliver guest services
o Assist with monitoring and controlling COGS, inventories, waste, and orders
o Provide a safe working environment
o Audit to ensure kitchen, dining room, bar, public spaces, and grounds areas meet sanitation and cleanliness standards
o Ensure cross-training of all employees

Administrative
o Assist in proper hiring practices compliant with I-9, ADA and EEO requirements
o Scheduling of FOH staff and consistent coverage of weekend and evening hours
o Carry out all reasonable requests of which you are capable of performing
o Perform any additional MOD job responsibilities when assigned

Qualifications

• Proven experience in staff training and management within a restaurant setting
• Strong background in food service management and kitchen operations
• Excellent supervisory and team management skills
• Familiarity with POS systems, including Aloha and Micros
• Experience in food preparation and inventory control
• Knowledge of fine dining and casual dining environments
• Ability to handle cash and manage financial transactions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
