Assistant Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our retail team! Duties

• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management
• Lead, supervise, and motivate retail sales teams to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
• Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities
• Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team
• Handle customer inquiries with professionalism via phone or in person, ensuring positive shopping experiences
• Implement operational policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with company standards and safety regulations

Experience

• Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within the retail industry, preferably with retail sales team management experience
• Strong knowledge of retail math including pricing, inventory management, and basic financial calculations
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and recruiting top talent
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail operations management is essential
• Background in grocery or general retail stores with familiarity in merchandising, stocking, and inventory control is preferred
• Excellent communication skills combined with leadership qualities such as team management, organizational skills, time management, and managerial communication

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
