Assistant Restaurant Manager

Location: Stokes Croft, Bristol
Reporting to: Restaurant Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, dependable and enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team in a busy Bristol city-centre restaurant.

This is a key management role, supporting the Restaurant Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the business and acting as a main point of contact for staff during shifts.

We are looking for someone with a genuine can-do attitude, who leads by example, takes ownership and is passionate about delivering great customer service while developing themselves and the team around them.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
• Take responsibility for the restaurant when the Restaurant Manager is unavailable.
• Act as a key point of contact for staff, providing guidance and support during shifts.
• Lead, motivate and support the team to maintain high standards of service.
• Help organise shifts, delegate duties and ensure tasks are completed effectively.
• Support staff training, development and performance.
• Ensure customers receive friendly, professional and attentive service.
• Handle customer queries and complaints confidently and professionally.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
• Support stock control, deliveries, cash-up and general restaurant administration.
• Ensure food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures are followed.
• Identify operational issues and take a proactive approach to resolving them.
• Suggest ideas and improvements that can support the growth of the restaurant.

Experience & Skills

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a restaurant, hospitality or similar fast-paced customer-service environment.
• Previous supervisory, team-leading or management experience, with the confidence to support and guide staff.
• Strong communication, organisational and customer-service skills.
• The ability to remain calm, professional and effective during busy service periods.
• A proactive approach, strong sense of responsibility and willingness to take ownership.

Relevant training or qualifications in areas such as First Aid, Food Safety, Health & Safety or other hospitality-related training would be advantageous, but are not essential, as appropriate training can be provided.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
