Berkshire | Full-time, permanent | £14.50 an hour plus tips

Fornoza makes pizza and focaccia from scratch, with a slow-fermented dough we're a bit obsessed with. We're the exclusive food vendor at Siren Brewery's taproom in Berkshire, and we're looking for an assistant kitchen manager to run the kitchen alongside our co-founder, Josh.

You'll lead a team that's already up and running, keep service moving, and make sure everything that leaves the kitchen is something we're proud of. We are extremely proud of the team at the minute and are looking for someone to help push it forwards.

What you'll do

Run each shift and lead the team through service.

Look after our dough prep and fermentation, including our lievito madre, so every pizza and tray of focaccia comes out right.

Order stock, keep track of what we have, and deal with suppliers.

Build the rota and keep an eye on timekeeping.

Train new team members and help existing ones grow.

Keep the kitchen spotless and safe: cleaning schedules, allergen checks and our digital food safety checklists.

Keep us ready for an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) visit at any time.

Open and close the kitchen as a keyholder, and handle the cash-up.

Sign off on all of the above, so you're trusted to make the call.

What you'll need

Management experience, in any kind of setting.

A willingness to learn. You don't need to know pizza already, because we'll train you ourselves, including your food safety qualifications.

The right to work in the UK.

What you'll get

£14.50 an hour, with tips on top.

45 hours a week, on a permanent contract with a 6-month probation period.
