Assistant Manager

This is the perfect role for someone who is motivated, hands-on, and excited to grow into higher leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

People Management (with training & support):

• Supervise team members during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and great guest experiences
• Assist with interviewing and onboarding new team members
• Help train, coach, and motivate staff to uphold café standards
• Provide real-time feedback and recognition to team members

Operations Management:

• Oversee opening and closing duties, ensuring the café is guest-ready
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
• Step into any role needed: bagel prep, coffee drinks, or register - while leading by example
• Assist with scheduling, inventory checks, and ordering (with guidance)

Customer Service & Business Growth:

• Be a positive, approachable leader on the floor, resolving guest issues with care
• Support community connection and local store marketing efforts as guided by leadership
• Act as an ambassador of Old School Bagel's fun, welcoming neighborhood vibe

What We’re Looking For

• Previous leadership or shift lead experience in food service, hospitality, or retail is preferred
• Strong communication and people skills (you enjoy working with and leading others)
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Calm under pressure and able to multitask during a busy morning rush
• Hands-on, lead-by-example approach — willing to do any job you ask of your team
• Eager to grow into a future roles with more responsibility]
• Weekend availability

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
