Assistant Manager

Position Summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton is seeking an energetic, mission-driven Assistant Store Manager to help launch and grow our new South Dayton ReStore location.

The Assistant Store Manager works closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily retail and warehouse operations, supervise staff and volunteers, support donation processing, implement merchandising strategies, and achieve store sales goals. The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced environment and is excited about helping grow a new store from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys retail operations, team development, merchandising, and supporting a mission that strengthens our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily store and warehouse operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Supervise, train, and motivate staff and volunteers.
• Help establish operational processes and a positive team culture in a new store environment.
• Maintain attractive merchandising, inventory organization, and store cleanliness.
• Assist with donation intake, pricing, and product processing.
• Deliver exceptional customer and donor service.
• Support sales, donation, and revenue goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Serve as Manager-on-Duty when the Store Manager is unavailable.

QualificationsRequired

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of retail, warehouse, or customer service experience.
• One year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

• Experience in nonprofit retail, thrift, resale, home improvement, or warehouse operations.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Experience opening or growing a retail operation.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
