The Quilter’s Lodge is seeking an organized, creative, and customer-focused Assistant Manager to support daily retail store operations. This position works closely with the manager and owner to create an outstanding experience for customers, lead and mentor staff, maintain store standards, support retreats and manage inventory flow.

Job Overview

• Work on Sales Floor leading and mentoring staff
• Help oversee daily store operations, staff scheduling and floor coverage.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate product ordering.
• Communicate across teams to share updates, answer questions, and keep projects moving forward.
• Coordinate new product intake and merchandising from receiving to placement on the sales floor.
• Use creativity to help create quilt kits and projects that support sales
• Identify fresh ideas, products, and merchandising opportunities that enhance the customer experience.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually welcoming store environment.
• Learn Like Sew / Rain Program (point-of-sale program) and Stamps.com (shipping)
• Basic knowledge of fabric lines, notions, designers, and manufacturers
• Work with Manager on promotions and store initiatives.
• Learn and apply retail, production and lodging policies and procedures consistently.
• Support retreat guests by answering questions and helping ensure a positive experience
• Work in Receiving and Production as needed to in operations

• Experience in retail, customer service, or a supervisory role preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with management, production, and sales staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities using To Do Lists in a fast-paced environment

• Math - Quilter’s math and logical planning
• Cutting - Use rotary blade and guide rulers for straight cuts
• Lifting up to 30 pounds, moving boxes and fabric, making physical stamina a beneficial asset.
• Vacuuming, Shoveling Snow, Sweeping, Garbage/Recycle

Job Type

• Work 40 hours per week
• Work two Saturdays a month and occasional evenings
• Store Hours Mon - Sat 10am -6pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 8pm, Closed Sunday
