Assistant Manager

Job Overview

We’re looking for someone to join our Salisbury branch and assist the manager with running the day to day operations. You will be taking responsibility for all aspects from open to close, 4-5 days a week (30-40 hours). Our shops are a mix of retail and hospitality and previous hospitality experience is required. The retail shop and counter is on the ground floor with tables on the first floor so the role requires you to work in a fast paced, busy & energetic environment. You need to have a passion for great customer service, we want to make everyone feel at home and build on our excellent reputation as an independent, eco-friendly brand.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of retail and hospitality operations, ensuring a high level of customer service.
• Oversee food preparation processes to guarantee compliance with food safety regulations.
• Help develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
• Help manage team performance through effective training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain inventory control and ensure proper stock levels.
• Manage shop operations, implement a routine for opening and closing ensuring efficient functioning of the shop, managing the sales floor and providing maximum profitability.
• Establish security and safety measures that comply with health and safety regulations.

Experience

• Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality or retail industry.
• An understanding of food safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability in team management.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Barista experience is a bonus but not essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
