THE OPPORTUNITY

• Provide technical advice across a broad range of tax and accounting matters, including:

• Business and tax structuring

• Trust taxation and distributions

• Division 7A

• Capital Gains Tax and small business concessions

• GST, FBT, payroll tax and state-based taxes

• Tax planning

• Budgets and forecasting

• Financial analysis

• Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns

• Review work before Partner sign-off and manage technical risk

• Act as the firm's technical escalation point

• Support advisory, restructuring and ATO audit matters

• Mentor team members and deliver internal technical training

• Monitor legislative and ATO developments and communicate impacts across the firm

• Deliver exceptional client service via phone, email and meetings

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL NEED:

• 5+ years' experience in Australian public practice
• CA or CPA qualified (CTA highly regarded)
• Advanced knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards
• Significant experience managing teams and overseeing workflow processes.
• A proven track record of reviewing work to a high standard, ensuring it is partner sign-off ready.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and develop team members effectively.
• Extensive client-facing experience and the confidence to manage client relationships independently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as a high level of client interaction is a key requirement of the role.
