Job Description: Assistant Manager

We are seeking a reliable, responsible, and customer-focused Assistant Manager to support daily store operations and assist the Store Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our retail and smoke shop. The Assistant Manager will help supervise employees, provide excellent customer service, manage inventory, maintain store standards, and ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations and employee supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
• Operate the cash register and ensure cash, credit, and debit transactions are handled accurately.
• Ensure products are priced correctly and transactions are completed properly.
• Maintain knowledge of store products, including smoking accessories, to assist customers and provide appropriate product recommendations.
• Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked, including shelves and product displays.
• Ensure compliance with store policies and applicable laws, including age verification requirements for tobacco and other age-restricted products.
• Assist with inventory management, product ordering, receiving shipments, and restocking merchandise.
• Help train new employees and ensure team members follow company procedures.
• Assist with employee scheduling, shift coordination, and daily task assignments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily sales reporting.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer complaints according to company policy.
• Monitor employee performance and report operational issues or concerns to the Store Manager.
• Help maintain a positive, professional, and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the store.

Requirements:

• Previous retail experience required; prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle cash, manage transactions, and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to supervise employees and work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a retail and smoke shop environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be 21 years or older due to the nature of the products sold.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, and take initiative.
• Dependable, professional, and capable of handling responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
