Café Kazu is opening soon at Chatswood Chase, and we’re looking for a confident, hands‑on Assistant Manager to help lead our newest venue. If you know how to run a smooth floor, motivate staff, and deliver consistent, high‑quality service, this is a strong opportunity to step into a leadership role with a growing café brand.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the Venue Manager to oversee daily operations, guide the team through busy shifts, and maintain the warm, professional service standard Café Kazu is known for. You’ll be a key part of the opening team, helping set the culture and rhythm of the new café from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise floor staff during service
• Maintain strong customer service standards
• Support opening and closing procedures
• Assist with rostering, training, and staff performance
• Handle escalated customer issues with maturity
• Ensure smooth workflow between floor, coffee, and kitchen
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance
• Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory checks

What You Bring

• 2–3 years’ experience in a café or restaurant leadership role
• Strong communication and people‑management skills
• Ability to stay calm, organised, and proactive under pressure
• Confidence in decision‑making and problem‑solving
• Experience with POS systems and café operations
• A positive attitude and team‑first mindset
