Assistant Manager

We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager to help lead our busy retail bakery. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves food, people, and creating a welcoming customer experience.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll support the Bakery Manager in the day-to-day running of the shop, helping to lead the team, maintain high standards, and ensure our customers leave with a smile (and great baked goods!).

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Manager in daily operations of the bakery
• Leading, motivating, and supervising the team on shift
• Delivering excellent customer service at all times
• Opening and closing the shop when required
• Managing stock levels, orders, and waste control
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are met
• Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally
• Assisting with staff training and rota management

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or food service (supervisory experience preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends
• Passion for food and great customer service
