Assistant Manager

Position summary

ASME India is looking for a dynamic communications professional who can combine storytelling, content creation, website management, and PR to strengthen the visibility of our engineering, learning, standards, and professional communities.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering and communications, helping translate technical expertise into compelling content that engages members, industry, media, academia, and partners.

Role & responsibilities

• Develop content for websites, newsletters, blogs, emailers, social media, and thought leadership campaigns.
• Manage website updates and content across Technical & Engineering Communities, Learning & Development, and Standards & Engineering Services.
• Draft press releases, leadership messaging, articles, case studies, and success stories.
• Support media outreach and coordination with PR agencies.
• Work closely with engineers, trainers, volunteers, and subject matter experts to create content that showcases ASME's impact.
• Support flagship events, technical programs, membership initiatives, and community engagement campaigns.

Preferred candidate profile

• Has 35 years of experience in Communications, PR, Journalism, Content Marketing, or Corporate Communications.
• Is a strong writer and storyteller.
• Can simplify technical and engineering topics for diverse audiences.
• Has experience managing websites and digital content.
• Is organized, proactive, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.
• Preferred experience in engineering, technology, B2B, industry associations, higher education, STEM organizations, or business media will be an advantage.
