Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) manages academic services and student life at NTU. It oversees policies, programmes, and services spanning the entire student journey, from admission to graduation and beyond. SASD strategically develops and implements policies, ensures consistency across university-wide services, and supports academic governance. Operationally, it delivers centralised services including student administration, support for learning within and beyond the classroom, academic calendar management, and assistance in academic governance. SASD aims to create a supportive environment conducive to student success and lifelong learning.

The Assistant Manager (Data Analytics) will support data-driven decision-making across SASD through data analysis, dashboards, reporting, and related analytics solutions. The role involves working closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, analyse data, and develop practical analytics solutions that support operational and management needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements and translate them into appropriate analytics solutions.
  • Manage assigned analytics work and data requests with minimal supervision, including clarifying requirements, analysing data, developing outputs, and following through on enhancements.
  • Collect, clean, transform, and analyse data from multiple sources to support operational decision-making, performance monitoring, and process improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, Python, SQL, and Excel-based analytics tools.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of data models, data structures, and transformation logic supporting analytics initiatives.
  • Perform data validation, integrity checks, and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytical outputs.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and correlations in data, and translate analytical findings into meaningful observations and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on data interpretation, dashboard usage, and analytics tools, and gather feedback to improve the usability and relevance of analytics solutions.
  • Support the evaluation and prototyping of emerging analytics capabilities, including AI-enabled analytics agents and natural-language interfaces for querying dashboards and data.
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, business rules, analytical methodologies, dashboard logic, and technical processes to support knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Contribute to analytics standards and good practices within the team and share technical knowledge with colleagues where appropriate.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or related areas, with demonstrated ability to handle analytics assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret business requirements and translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation and business intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and transformation.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, data integration, APIs, data transformation, and data quality concepts.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders directly, clarify requirements, and communicate analytical findings effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a dynamic and collaborative working environment.
  • Interest in emerging analytics and AI technologies, including generative AI and analytics agents, will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms such as Power Automate or UiPath will be an advantage.
