What they need

About Us Scimplify is a science-first manufacturing company for Advanced Materials: from specialty chemicals to the emerging building blocks of next-generation energy applications, life sciences, and crop sciences.

We scale process development and manufacturing as one continuous system, supported by world-class R&D infrastructure and executed across a global network of 500+ manufacturing partners and thousands of scientists and technical partners. The result: new materials go from molecule to commercial scale in months, not years. Scimplify operates offices and teams across 5 countries with 1,000+ innovator customers in 40+ countries.

We are backed by investors such as Accel, Bertelsmann, Omnivore, Hitachi Ventures and 3one4 Capital, having raised over $80M.

About The Role We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Sourcing with experience in specialty or bulk chemicals. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and qualifying suppliers, conducting price benchmarking, preparing RFQs, negotiating commercial terms, and coordinating with partner factories to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply. The role involves close collaboration with Sales, Business Development, and Operations teams to support customer requirements, sourcing decisions, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Identification & Qualification: Identify potential chemical manufacturers, suppliers, and trading partners across domestic and

international markets. Evaluate their capabilities, pricing, quality standards, and supply reliability.

  • RFQ Management: Prepare and release Requests for Quotations (RFQs), collect supplier quotations, compare commercial proposals, and support

supplier selection.

  • Price Benchmarking & Cost Analysis: Conduct price comparisons, analyze cost structures, track market trends, and identify cost-saving

opportunities.

  • Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods, minimum order quantities, delivery timelines, and other

commercial conditions.

  • Partner Factory Coordination: Coordinate with partner factories and suppliers to assess production capabilities, capacity availability, lead times,

and order fulfillment.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Business Development, and Operations teams to understand customer requirements

and provide timely sourcing solutions.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, follow up on quotations and orders, and monitor supplier

performance.

  • Procurement Support: Assist in purchase planning, supplier onboarding, documentation, order tracking, and resolving supply-related issues.
  • Market Research: Track specialty and bulk chemical pricing, supplier developments, raw material trends, and alternative sourcing opportunities.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain supplier databases, quotation comparisons, sourcing reports, negotiation records, and procurement

trackers.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry.
  • 4–8 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor development.
  • Prior experience in the specialty chemicals or bulk chemicals industry is essential.
  • Experience working with chemical manufacturers, trading companies, or chemical sourcing networks.
  • Good understanding of chemical products, supplier capabilities, pricing structures, and commercial terms.
  • Hands-on experience with RFQs, price benchmarking, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong coordination, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing requirements and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
