Assistant Manager, Finance

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Finance to join our Finance team on a 6-month contract.

The primary focus of this role is to support the day-to-day finance operations and ensure timely and accurate execution of core accounting and finance activities. The role will work closely with the Finance team across month-end closing, payments and collections, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. In addition, the role will provide ad hoc support to the SAP S/4HANA implementation project, as and when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Finance Operations

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities for the entity, in compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls and SOPs

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries accurately and within reporting timelines.

• Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules, perform account reconciliations and ensure timely clearance of outstanding items.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure completeness and accuracy of cash records.

• Support payments and collections, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Manage intercompany transactions, including reconciliation, investigation and resolution of differences.

• Support month-end closing, audit requests, internal controls and other ad hoc finance activities as required.

SAP S/4HANA Implementation Project (As required)

• Support data validation and UAT phase of the project.
• Assist with defect resolution, cutover and go-live activities as required.
• Work with Finance, IT and project team to resolve any system and process issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• SAP: Hands-on functional experience, preferably with Finance processes and implementation projects.
• Accounting: Relevant Accounting or Finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent), with strong accounting fundamentals.
• Finance Operations: Practical experience in month-end closing, reconciliations and core finance operation processes.
• SAP Implementation: Experience in UAT, master data migration, cutover phases of new SAP system implementation
• Analytical & Problem Solving: Quick to learn and pick up new processes, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proactive in identifying and resolving questions and issues independently.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Works well with Finance, Operations and project teams, with strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
