ASSISTANT MANAGER - FINANCE (RECORD TO REPORT) (EG10)

Job Purpose

Prepare monthly accounts and management reports in line with reporting deadlines.

Handle daily operational activities of the Accounts Department.

Responsibilities

1. Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts in accordance with reporting schedules.

2. Evaluate monthly management accounts and reports prepared by accounts personnel.

3. Manage the accounts team, enforcing compliance with accounting procedures and proper record-keeping.

4. Implement and oversee effective asset management practices.

5. Review, formulate, and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions to improve efficiency and internal controls.

6. Comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable accounting standards.

7. Develop accounts staff to strengthen job knowledge, effectiveness, and efficiency.

8. Liaise with tax agents, auditors, and bankers on accounting, audit, and tax matters.

9. Participate in ERP system implementation and drive process improvements within the accounts department.

10. Manage other duties or tasks assigned by the superior.

Qualification and Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA), or a related field.

2. Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.

3. Proficient in Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).

4. Knowledge of the Companies Act and Income Tax Act.

5. Experience in manufacturing, preferably with a costing background.

6. ERP system knowledge and experience is an added advantage.
