Assistant Manager (GL)

About the role

Assistant Manager (GL) overseeing month-end and year-end closing activities, financial reporting, and accounting operations across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including GL, AP, AR, Fixed assets and Inventory
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Handle accounting for Fixed assets, Inventory, and IFRS 16 leases, including related reconciliations and adjustments
• Review account reconciliations and supporting schedules, and investigate any discrepancies
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, consultants, and relevant government authorities
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, financial, tax regulations, and group policies
• Liaise with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting, reporting, and operational issues
• Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Take a key role in accounting-related projects, reporting, and other ad hoc assignments

About you

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• At least 5-6 years of professional experience in an accounting role
• Good knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g. local GAAP and IFRS)
• Good command in English both of written and spoken
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently
• Adaptable, proactive, and capable of meeting tight deadlines
• Experience in FMCG/Retail is an advantage
• Experience with NetSuite and SAP (HANA) is an advantage
