Assistant Manager – Street Corner Urban Market

Street Corner Urban Market is looking for an energetic, dependable Assistant Manager to help lead Downtown Carrollton’s first grocery store!

We’re locally owned and building something different from the typical grocery store. Our goal is to create a neighborhood market with great music, friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a strong connection to the Downtown Carrollton community.

As Assistant Manager, you’ll help oversee daily operations, lead and support our team, maintain excellent customer service, manage inventory and merchandising, and help keep the store running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and opening/closing responsibilities
• Lead, motivate, and support team members during assigned shifts
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns
• Oversee POS operations, cash handling, and register accuracy
• Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control
• Monitor product levels, shrink, pricing, and store presentation
• Train and onboard new employees
• Help maintain scheduling and proper shift coverage
• Ensure store cleanliness, food safety, and operational standards
• Support fresh food and beverage operations
• Step in wherever needed to keep the store running efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous retail, grocery, convenience store, or similar management experience preferred
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, and inventory
• Organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to coach, train, and motivate employees
• Flexible availability, including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays
• Bilingual skills are a plus

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
