Assistant Manager, Group Accounts

Job Purpose

To assist and support the group's financial reporting requirements and the preparation of consolidated financial statements at the CIMA group level. To serve as the focal point to coordinate and consolidate the financial information across OpCos for management reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly CIMA company-level and group financial and management accounts and reports, including progress reports and financial variance analysis
• Review and monitor the financial statements, audit schedules, and reconciliations submitted by Op-Cos and improve the quality of the financial statements and reporting
• Prepare the group audited financial statements in accordance with statutory accounting standards and ensure the enforcement of accounting standards across all entities within the group
• Monitor and manage audit processes with external auditors to ensure statutory audit work is completed on time
• Assist, monitor and coordinate corporate tax matters within CIMA group of companies in consultation with External Tax Agent / Consultant
• Assist the Head of Department to co-ordinate, manage and prepare the Strategic Plan, Mid-Year Review and Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
• Perform research on relevant business strategies, analyze external business outlook factors and risk factors that could impact the Group's performance
• Assist in preparing and analyzing business scenarios for new business opportunities, mergers & acquisitions, new markets, or new regions
• Prepare quarterly competitor benchmarking analysis for the top cement and concrete market players in Malaysia

About you

• Degree in Finance and Accounting or ACCA equivalent
• Financial Reporting Audit experience
• Strong analytical and technical skills in accounting, auditing, and business strategy
• Strong communication, writing, and leadership skills
• Able to plan and organize workload, communicate accurately, and maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor
• Meet work expectations, remain accountable for assigned tasks, and manage time effectively
