Assistant Manager, Human Resources

About the Role

Food Delicacy Material Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager, Human Resources to support and lead the full spectrum of HR functions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working closely with Management to drive HR initiatives, ensure compliance, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of Human Resource and Administration functions.

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, probation, confirmation, and offboarding processes.

• Develop, review, and implement HR policies, SOPs, and employment-related documentation.

• Handle employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, domestic inquiries, grievances, counselling, and performance management.

• Ensure compliance with the Employment Act 1955 and other relevant Malaysian labour laws.

• Administer payroll inputs, leave management, attendance, and employee records.

• Coordinate employee training, development, and performance appraisal programmes.

• Advise Management on HR best practices and provide practical solutions to people-related matters.

• Liaise with relevant government agencies, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN, HRD Corp, and other statutory bodies.

• Prepare HR reports, manpower planning, and workforce analysis.

• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the HR department.

• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

  Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act 1955 and other labour regulations.
  • Experience in handling employee disciplinary matters and performance management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organised, responsible, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
