Assistant Manager – Logistics/Dispatch

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Assistant Manager – Logistics/Dispatch to manage daily dispatch operations, coordinate with transporters, ensure timely deliveries, maintain dispatch documentation, and supervise the logistics team. The ideal candidate should have strong planning, coordination, communication, and team management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily dispatch schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Manage transporter relationships, negotiate freight rates, and coordinate vehicle placement.
• Monitor shipment movement and ensure on-time delivery to customers and designated locations.
• Prepare and verify dispatch documents, invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, LR/GR, and other transport-related paperwork, as applicable.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, sales, and customer service teams for dispatch planning.
• Track vehicle availability, loading schedules, shipment status, and delivery confirmations.
• Handle transportation delays, delivery issues, and customer escalations effectively.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, transporter bills, freight expenses, and shipment reports.
• Supervise and guide dispatch staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transportation expenses.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, transport regulations, and safety standards.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch and logistics performance reports.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate in any discipline; a degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations will be an added advantage.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience in dispatch planning and transporter management.
• Good knowledge of dispatch documentation and transportation procedures.
• Experience in team handling and coordinating with multiple departments.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP or inventory management systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet dispatch deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates with experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or trading operations will be preferred.
• Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing time-sensitive dispatch operations.
• Should be comfortable coordinating with transporters, warehouse personnel, and internal teams.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
