Assistant Manager / Manager – Stone Quarry

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the stone quarry to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective production while meeting operational, quality and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, extraction, crushing, loading and rock haulage activities.
• Plan and monitor production activities to achieve required output, quality and cost targets.
• Monitor and control quarry operating costs, stockpile levels and overall resource utilisation.
• Coordinate repair and maintenance activities for quarry machinery, fixed and mobile plants to minimise downtime.
• Supervise quarry personnel and contractors and ensure effective manpower deployment.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, health and environmental requirements.
• Monitor quarry performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Prepare and submit production, operational and performance reports to Management.
• Liaise with relevant authorities, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quarry operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, crushing and heavy equipment operations.
• Good understanding of production planning, cost control, plant maintenance and statutory requirements.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possession of a Blasting Licence recognised by the Department of Mineral and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG) would be an advantage.
• Willing to travel and be stationed at project sites in Malaysia and overseas, when required.
• Adaptable to extended hours as required by the operational demands of the quarry site.
