Our client is a Japanese-listed construction company. They are currently seeking an Assistant Manager (Mechanical) to join their team.

【Responsibilities】

• Support the overall project delivery, including project schedule, quality, safety, and cost control, to ensure successful completion according to plan.
• Assist in developing project construction plans, master schedules, quality and safety plans, budgets, and risk management plans.
• Manage and oversee site installation and construction activities in accordance with approved installation methods and project requirements.
• Coordinate project schedules and site activities with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Monitor the progress, quality, safety, and cost performance of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders and assist in resolving technical and site-related issues.
• Support the negotiation and management of variations and changes with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain effective communication among project stakeholders and site teams.
• Lead, coach, and support site staff and junior team members.
• Identify areas for improvement and provide guidance and training to enhance team performance.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues arising on site to ensure smooth project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement of construction methods and processes through the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle.
• Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards, statutory requirements, codes of practice, and client requirements.
• Support the Project Manager / Construction Manager in motivating the project team and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.

【Requirements & Preferences】
(Must)

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of Mechanical installation and project management experience, including at least 2 years of project management experience within data centre, cleanroom, laboratory, hospital, industrial, or semiconductor projects.
• Experience managing large-scale projects with contract values ranging from SGD 10 million to SGD 100 million or above.
• Demonstrated experience managing mechanical installation projects, rather than roles focused solely on design or consultancy.
• Demonstrable experience taking ownership of major projects, including installation, subcontractor management, scheduling, cost management, testing and commissioning, and final handover.
• Building Construction Safety Supervisor (BCSS) or relevant construction safety qualification.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
